Rene Tõnnisson

CEO

Rene likes to work on new ideas and find opportunities to put them into life by combining the ideas with the right people and the needed resources. He has been working in the area of innovation management and technology development for the last 20 years and has been involved in managing more than 50 national and international innovation and business development projects. Rene is a member of the Estonian Business Angel Network EstBAN and has been the co-founder and member of the executive board in various companies and organizations, including Smart City Lab, Tartu Science Park, Tartu Biotechnology Park, Institute of Baltic Studies, Buildit Latvia, Buildit Global and Connect Estonia. In HEMOS, Rene is supporting the team with strategic and financial planning activities.

Richard Henahan

Analysis Lead

Richard is passionate about bringing sustainability to the mainstream and enjoys working on projects that support the circular economy. Richard has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Erfurt, Germany, and has worked on several projects related to sustainability, renewable energy and economic development. In HEMOS, Richard is in charge of exploitation activities, promoting the use of the project results in further research activities and encouraging the development of new products, services and processes.

Kertu Ling

Management Lead

Kertu is skilled at preparing and coordinating EU research and innovation projects, having most experience in areas like smart cities, cleantech as well as business development and acceleration. Kertu has a Master’s degree in Baltic Sea Region studies from the University of Tartu, including expertise in economics, environmental, social and political studies that are needed in planning and implementing sustainability initiatives. In this project, Kertu is supporting the HEMOS team with overall coordination.

Kai Aet Sild

Communication Lead

Kai is all about getting the word out about the good thing. She is communications, marketing project management and copywriting. Kai is most passionate about the art of words and has a Master´s degree in Marketing from the University of Tartu. She has previously worked in both the private and public sectors and has helped connecting science and agricultural landscape in Estonia. Kai is the Communication Manager in the Baltic Innovation Agency as well as in the Institute of Baltic Studies. In this project, she supports the HEMOS team with communication and dissemination activities.
